Полезная информация:
Для идентификации пользователя в BOINC могут служить 2 вещи:
1) пара e-mail/пароль
2) межпроектный идентификационный ID (Cross-project ID) - 32значное шестнадцатиричное число.

Если Вы пожелаете подключится ещё и к другому BOINC-проекту, то помните: чтобы не плодить новых аккаунтов при подключении к новому проекту или команде, нужно обязательно везде регистрироваться с одним и тем же e-mail/паролем либо CPID. если при регистрации в проекте указать другие e-mail или пароль, BOINC создаст новый аккаунт с тем же именем!

О проекте:
Цель проекта состоит в том, чтобы доказать ненадежность использования простых алгоритмов для защиты важных паролей. Тем самым мы стараемся вынудить разработчиков использовать более безопасные и надежные методы.
При помощи распределенных вычислений мы можем сгенерировать огромные Rainbow-таблицы, которые в состоянии взломать более длинные пароли чем когда-либо прежде.
Кроме того, мы также улучшаем саму технологию Rainbow-таблиц, делая их еще меньше и быстрее, чем Rainbow-таблицы, которые вы можете найти в других местах. А главное, что наши таблицы находятся в свободном доступе и вы можете загрузить их с нашего сайта!
Установив и управляя клиентом BOINC, Вы можете помочь нам ускорить генерацию таблиц еще больше.

на драйверах 258.хх проект зависал и сбрасывал частоты видяхи. на новых дровах -гуд

на 8800гт/256МБ -не хватает памяти... хотя на 460 грузит только 70МБ(по афтербурнеру). Кстати, с какой версии дрова начали урезать память? на оф.сайте под 7х64 только с 181.хх (на них 240МБ доступно), а 178.хх под висту64 боинк не видит гпу(( хотя фолдинг на них идет

News

next set, hybrid2, and general status
We are currently wrapping up generation of the set md5_mixalpha-numeric-space#1-8.

PowerBlade and I have been frantically getting hybrid2 support completed, tested, and deployed in preparation for our next set. This will be a hybrid ntlm set as mentioned in my last post: hybrid2(alpha#1-1,loweralpha#5-5,loweralpha-numeric#2-2,numeric#1-3). We finished pushing out client binaries and server binaries not long ago. There is a small test set with 100 WUs running through the system now before we kick this one off. Also, the code was crudely hacked on over last weekend and will perform slower than it should, which will be the next item on the todo list after we kick this one off. Finally, I still have to complete the changes to the cuda code changes for hybrid2 support.

Once the new set is running with cuda and with optimizations to follow within a week or two, then I'll return to rti2 so the set we just finished can be converted to rti2 for distribution.

Also, we've had several project members come forward with the starting work for a cross platform GUI for rcracki_mt. I'm pleased to say that Paragon's work is near a place where it will be merged into the head branch. 1 Feb 2011 2:44:36 UTC · Comment

I am happy to start by stating there is a lot going on and will discuss: new developers, table generation, new features, sse2, cuda, ssl, and some additional rambling.

First, I'm pleased to introduce gnxtr and wattage as developers that have already made some excellent contributions to the code base. Gnxtr approached me wanting to work on MPI patches for rcracki_mt but we both decided cleanup, sse2, and cuda should happen first. He tackled giving us regression testing for our hash algorithms and has moved on to intelligent ordering of tables during rcracki_mt runs. wattage has been doing code cleanup, took the time to fix the linux free memory calculations, and is currently working on cleaning up rcracki_mt to make use of RTIReader.

Table generation has changed a bit from the norm. While we do have cpu hybrid2 units going, and I need to finish hybrid2 on the gpu side, we also have really hit most of the ntlm and md5 keyspaces that are feasible for now. mysqlsha1 needs some corrections on the cpu side, unless we use openssl's, and has no gpu implementation. Project Rainbow Crack apparently has some 96.8% success rate tables for md5_ascii-32-95#1-8 created with a chain length of a massive 422000, spread across 4 tables, and impressively slow attack times. The long work units many have noticed by now are generating the same set at 200000 length chains across 3 tables at a minimum of 96.9%. This success rate allows us to come back at any time and add a 4th table for 99.0% success rate. Also, we won't sell them for $1200USD but make them freely available.

Likely we need to think about a GPU queue for generation since right now we can restrict hybrid2 work to CPUs and having either an option or a default of handing out the longer chain length WUs to GPUs would be a nice improvement. Also, this table set is a placeholder while hybrid2 on the cuda side is finalized and ready and will not remain our primary focus when hybrid2 is ready for all platforms and architectures that we support. Additionally, we my have a developer who will focus on cuda in rcracki_mt which will be a necessity for this chain length at the current time.

We are still getting all the backlogged sets and RTI2 conversions uploaded! If you can please use the torrents as even with no seeders a properly equipped client will fall back to the webseed on GARR. We are using 6 trackers and lately have been seeing only 1 of 6 up consistently. Suggestions for more reliable open trackers is appreciated. Additionally, we are looking at running our own tracker again.

We have a complete implementation of distrrtgen using sse2 on the windows side and yesterday I finished fixing all the intrinsics to have it compile and function correctly on the x86_64 linux side. I have 1 non ia32 intrinsic to cleanup and then I can test performance there as the latest g++ builds are actually beating out the hand done sse2 on the x86_64 linux side. PowerBlade noted a 20% speed up on win32. Once all the kinks are sorted out then of course things like the hash algorithms and reduction function can be brought over to the rcracki_mt side.

The cuda side distrrtgen on x86_64 linux has a new build that drops CPU usage to almost nothing. There seem to be bugs with it on some setups that are especially related to tasks that are suspended and resumed. Once these bugs are sorted out this improvement will be brought to the windows side as well.

With all the activity going on and the new developers it finally got me to set up a project wide bug and project management system in place. I went with Mantis as it has worked well for my day job.

SSL! Yes we have a proper *.freerainbowtables.com SSL certificate now. This works with mantis.freerainbowtables.com and http://www.freerainbowtables.com but not with the forums right now. The forums can be configured https only and the cookies changed as well but there seems to be no way to allow both at once. Please don't go nuts and submit HTTPS-Everywhere rules yet as we want to see how the server handles it first. Assuming all goes well then perhaps we can go all ssl. Please note this does not currently apply to boinc.freerainbowtables.com.

On a final note I cannot thank PowerBlade, PapaSmurf, and neinbrucke enough as we work through this backlog of table generation, conversion, uploading, torrents, etc. While neinbrucke is not often seen here often, he is correcting my 2am mistakes of including output data with the tables that should have been removed before they are synced to GARR.
