О проекте:
Seventeen or Bust (сайт проекта) — это проект распределённых вычислений стартовавший в марте 2002 года по нахождению последних 17 чисел, необходимых для решения задачи Серпинского. Цель проекта — доказать, что 78 557 является минимальным числом Серпинского.

ПРЕДУПРЕЖДЕНИЕ! Попытка установить проект во вторую папку полностью уничтожит все предыдущие результаты

Проект запоминает ваше задание (10000 блоков для одного теста) в реестре. При новой установке (например для 2го процессора) все в реестре обнуляетсяexcl.gif!!!!!!!!! Поэтому в первоначальной папке клиент будет думать что он запущен первый раз!! Я это проверил на собственном опыте захотев загрузить второй процессор (для теста). Убил 3 часа рассчетов и 2 задания (пришлось все полностью анинсталировать)

Новый клиент!

Can you guys download and test out these new "packaged" versions of the client?

They are just the base client with a prime.txt file already embedded so it will use SB's server. All you need to do now is open the prime.txt file and change username from "louie" to your SB username.

These are better than the original instructions because it won't download GIMPS tests first and pull the work out of their system. It also will work fine if someone doesn't update the prime.txt file at all. And I changed the server so later you can change the username and make it your own if you forget to update it from my username.

Are there any changes I should make before I make these files available to download for the average user? Does the windows client work well? Does it auto-start on reboot? Linux? Mac OS X? Anything you can think of would help. Thanks.

Вобщем єтоне совсем новій клиент. Єто клиент Гимпс - п95.

Луи похачил гимпсовій сервер (он опенсорц, так что скорее подшаманил). и теперь можно щитать СоБ на п95 клиенте.
Он чуть-чуть бістрее родного клиента, плюс поддерживает многоядерность.

Итак, официально вышел новый клиент для СоБ.

Точнее не совсем новый, просто прайм95, знакомый вам по гимпсу, немного переделанный для СоБ.

Seventeen or Bust users can now run a specially configured version of Prime95 directly on our server!



This represents a huge step forward in terms of speed and efficiency so we're recommending that anyone with previous versions of SB migrate to the new software.

Major Enhancements

Mac OS X (intel) clients now available!
Full multi-core support
64-bit processor support
15% faster per thread than SB v2.5.0
P-1 factoring (with cEM credit for factors)
Separate network thread - no delays
Now communicates on port 80
98.2% less network traffic
Better save-file handling (no registry keys in windows!)

Remember though, this is not a "drop-in" replacement for previous SB clients. This is brand new software. So even if you're a current user, you still have to follow the instructions in "Step 3" on the download page. Also, if your current version of SB is about to finish a full test, try to let it complete before removing SB because you can't migrate workunits.

Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux clients are all available now so Download and setup the new client!

Попробовал(просто заменил ЕХЕ), продолжила расчёт, ускорилась на 12%(по сравнению с v25.11)...
Видно пни4 уже не отстой, а даже раритет...
Хотя тоже приятно... Ползерна в день, глядишь за год на буханку набежит.

New features in Version 26.3 of prime95.exe

1) A few crash bugs were fixed that affected only some CPU architectures and some FFT lengths. Other minor bug were fixed.

New features in Version 26.2 of prime95.exe
-------------------------------------------

1) Faster FFTs for most SSE2-capable CPU architectures.
2) More FFT lengths supported.
3) Some of the new, faster FFTs don't let us do as much error checking on each iteration. If you don't want to lose this error checking, choose "SUM(INPUTS) error checking" from the Options menu. This will slow down your tests by about 2-5%.
4) When a possible hardware error occurs during a test, the error message would likely scroll off the screen unnoticed. Now, all future progress updates to the screen will be followed by a message containing a count of the errors that have occurred during the test.
5) Worker Windows now stagger their starts. This improves timings for some CPUs and operating systems. See undoc.txt to control this feature.
