NumberFields@home is a research project that uses Internet-connected computers to do research in number theory. You can participate by downloading and running a free program on your computer.

NumberFields@home searches for fields with special properties. The primary application of this research is in the realm of algebraic number theory. Number theorists can mine the data for interesting patterns to help them formulate conjectures about number fields. Ultimately, this research will lead to a deeper understanding of the profound properties of numbers, the basic building blocks of all mathematics.

NumberFields@home is based at the school of mathematics at Arizona State University. The final results of this project will be complete tables of number fields. The results are given in table form or as a searchable database.

Minimum System Requirements:

Intel/Amd processor.
At least 128MB of ram free.
32MB of free disk space.
Windows, Linux or Mac (x86) OS.

Д.Р. і так вже кількасот років тому було доведено шо природній ряд чисел (1 2 3 4...) є нераціональним - і всі ці дата майнінґи призведуть лише до громіздких вузько- та важковикористовуваних алгоритмів - хоча для суспільних ключів (public keys) в інтернеті в цьому є польза

для тестовых проектов лого делать необязательно - большой шанс что тестовый проект умрет через пару месяцев

NumberFields@home: 4th subfield out of 49 is now complete.

2012-01-19: Actually there are a handful of work units that are slowly trickling in, but it's close enough to declare victory. The 5th subfield is close behind, about 80% complete. Thank you to all of our volunteers!

Another level of the search has been completed. We are now 1 step closer to finishing the Decics search over Q(i). The next batch of WUs is targetting those fields with discriminant (2^29)*(5^17). After that, we hit the (2^29)*(5^18) discriminants, which is the pinacle of the search over Q(i).

In addition to Q(i) there are 6 other subfields we need to do. I am starting to sprinkle some of those WUs in with the Q(i) work. These other subfields are expected to be much smaller searches, so the idea here is to pick off some of the easier targets while waiting for Q(i) to finish.

Что-то из области алгебраической теории чисел - поиск матполей со специальными свойствами.
Так вот, сейчас рассчитываются подполя 26 и 27.

Появились новые типы Wus для поиска особого типа числового поля. Данный поиск носит ознакомительный характер и не является полным (в противном случае он занял бы слишком много времени). После обнаружения спецполя, будет произведен возврат к поиску over {2,5}. Больше информации о новом исследовании тут.

Появилось приложение для CUDA GPU под linux. Краткая информация:

• PPD GTX 1080 около 4 3-4 млн P.S. с 26.03.2019 дают по 4000 очков за задание, получается ~2,5 млн; P.P.S. 30.03.2019 карета превратилась в тыкву, теперь дают 800 очков за вдвое более длинное задание, соответственно PPD GTX 1080 ~250000 очков;
• может использовать только gpu0 (первую видеокарту в системе), но приложения запускает по количеству видеокарт - P.S. исправлено в версии v3.01;
• если нагрузить Ryzen 1700 14-ю потоками WCG и одним NumberFields CUDA, то NumberFields использует GPU 50-80%, CPU 100% (1 поток SMT);
• для получения CUDA заданий на этапе бета-тестирования нужно установить чекбокс "Run test applications?" на странице "Настройки NumberFields@home";
• тема на официальном форуме.
