AlgoritmoGenetico@Home, Genetic Algorithms for electric power resources administration
In large installations where security is a very important factor, it is necessary to have a distributed architecture of electricity. Everyday examples of these facilities are found in underground transportation such as subways, train tunnels, road tunnels for transit, etc. This type of installation has various electrical connection points, which are supported by several companies and must also have undertaken a number of points on reserve. Usually, this whole structure involves payment of millionair bills to the electrical companies. The amount to be paid on these bills comes mainly from two components: a fixed term (amount paid for the contracted power) and a variable term (consumed power ). Both sides can be modified to reduce the amount of the invoices.
The aim of the project is to figure out a genetic algorithm able to optimize the value of the contracted power, to reduce the annual cost of the electricity bill of an actual installation as much as possible..
