Bored over the holidays? Why not enter our writing competition?
SPOTLIGHT | DECEMBER 19, 2012

What are you waiting for? Why not enter right away? Image courtesy stuartpilbrow, Flickr.
The hunt for the Higgs boson was undoubtedly the grid computing story of 2012, but now it's your chance to help us find the next big thing for 2013 and win €500 worth of dream gadgets!

Back in September, we announced the EGI Writing Prize 2013 in association with iSGTW. Researchers and science writers from all over the world are invited to submit engaging articles about practical applications of grid computing in science.

The competition is split into two categories:

1. Researchers: PhD students and early career scientists (up to seven years after finishing PhD) who have used or are using grid computing for their research. We'll consider all fields of research from humanities to geology or anything else. See the FAQs for researchers.

2. Writers: This category includes everyone with an interest in science writing (bloggers, freelancers, journalists); science communication students we're looking at you. See the FAQs for writers.

The prize for each category is €500 worth of electronic gadgets of your choice! You pick the gadgets, we foot the bill. You will also get your article published on the European Grid Infrastructure (EGI) website, in our newsletter and on iSGTW, as well as a free ticket to the EGI Community Forum in Manchester, where the award ceremony will be held.

Entries must be emailed to press@egi.eu by 25th January 2013 and must be no more than 800 words long. The winning entries for each category will be selected by a panel of EGI and iSGTW staff. You can find out more on the competition website

Вам тут подходит 2й пункт, заходим по линку и читаем, что нужно сделать.
Есть все шансы если не победить, так дать о себе знать.

Предлагаю отправить несколько работ, помочь в написании и сделать коллективный вклад от Украинской команды. =)

What are you going to do with my article? http://www.egi.eu/news-and-media/writing_prize/FAQs.html

We want to use your work to promote grid computing to the general public. This means that if your article is good, we'll publish it on our website, our newsletter and use it for our outreach activities. iSGTW will also publish it as a feature. You will always be given full credit.

What we don't want to see: cliches (we've found enough needles in the haystack), jargon (remember the non-specialist audience), lists of references (it's not a scientific paper), plagiarism (please don't! that's really annoying), very long articles.

Пропоную взяти за основу роботу rpisarev http://youpk.ru/raspredelennyie-vyichisleniya/
Або зібрати ще розум усіх кранчерів і написати власню статтю.

Они там еще пример предоставляют

Can you give me an example?

Here's one: B-physics on the grid – a view from the frontline. In this article, Serena Oggero explains how grid computing is important for her PhD research on the bottom quark.
