Полезная информация:
Для идентификации пользователя в BOINC могут служить 2 вещи:
1) пара e-mail/пароль
2) межпроектный идентификационный ID (Cross-project ID) - 32значное шестнадцатиричное число.

Если Вы пожелаете подключится ещё и к другому BOINC-проекту, то помните: чтобы не плодить новых аккаунтов при подключении к новому проекту или команде, нужно обязательно везде регистрироваться с одним и тем же e-mail/паролем либо CPID. если при регистрации в проекте указать другие e-mail или пароль, BOINC создаст новый аккаунт с тем же именем!

BRaTS@Home: New work units to conduct shape study
2009-12-08: More work was sent out today. This will be the beginning of a string of work units, albeit spread out a bit. A brief write up can be found here:

I sent out more work units today. This is the beginning of a batch of work units that will be spread out over the next few weeks. In this case, it won't be consistent over that time period. Instead, I will review the results, prepare a new cluster distribution and send the work again.

What is the point? The goal of this study is to see what effect variations in cluster shape have on the light distortion effects. Take the classic (possibly over used) example of the Abell 2218. Here you see thin, often faint arcs. This image is frequently used because these effects are easy to see. For example, notice the almost gray arcs on the left side of this image. These are the result of the gravitational effects this cluster has on the background image. It stretches it. These calculations being done now measure those effects. Since I can simulate these distortions for arbitrary cluster, I will vary their shape and see what conclusions I can draw from that variation's effect on the overall lensing effect. Clusters have a average shape, but there is a bit of variation around that average. Understanding that effect can be useful for scientists making these observations in the future.

This is why I will be spreading it out over the next few/couple weeks. I will test a few different distributions in order to try and understand the bigger picture.
