The Genome Comparison project which included the comparative analysis of the genomes of more than 300 organisms has resulted in a unique database, and the research community and the researchers at Fiocruz are grateful for the processing time donated to the Genome Comparison project. We thank you!

We have now published a paper describing the database of results http://bioinformatics.oxfordjournals.org/c...t/full/26/5/705 . The database itself can be accessed at http://www.proteinworlddb.org , and is providing valuable information to scientists around the world who are studying genes and their evolution, and how they relate to life and disease processes, offering precious clues about the predicted function of genes, and the evolution of metabolic pathways. Several of such pathways, and also many hypothetical proteins are being studied for the first time. As such, the database should accelerate research of all kinds and hopefully lead to benefits to mankind in the process.
