The aim of the project Ideologias@Home is to study how people in a certain region evolve ideologically over time respect to an idea. When an idea is introduced in a society, the population is divided naturally into four groups:

- Extremists: those who defend the idea extremely.

- Moderates: those who defend the idea moderately.

- Opponents: those who are against the idea.

- Abstentionists: those who do not matter, abstain or have not opinion.


People change their mind because peer pressure, the influence of mass media or because is decided by oneself. Under these assumptions, we propose dynamic models, determine the parameters, predict trends and analyse results.

Hi rilian!

Here is the information:

Status: previous model was not satisfactory, it is being reworked using a different approach to include additional social factors not used the first time. This task is ongoing. I have an alpha model already running but is still not ready for public use.

When: I'm preparing Meningococo@Home for launch this Summer, and this and Neurona@Home are absorbing most of my time so Ideologias will not be ready until end of Summer, I guess. My aim is to have results of the new model before end this year.

Requirements: Not yet defined. Current alpha model requires about 0.5-1GB RAM and can run in 32bit Win and Linux. Anyway this values are still to be confirmed. This depends on the final population being considered for testing.
