О проекте:
Distributed Internet MEasurements & Simulations
Интернет построен таким образом, что единственным эффективным способом построить его карту является сделать это распределённо. Поэтому, мы просим вас принять участие в нашем проекте. Нам важны не столько ваши циклы CPU или сетевой трафик (который наш клиент почти не потребляет), сколько ваше местонахождение. Чем в большем количестве мест работают клиенты проекта, тем точнее будут составленные им карты. Понимание структуры Интернета — важная исследовательская задача. Её решение сможет позволить сделать Интернет более приятным местом для каждого из нас.
Клиент DIMES выполняет измерения состояния сети, такие как TRACEROUTE или PING. Делает это он с низкой частотой, потребляя в пике до 1 килобайта в секунду. Агент никуда не отсылает ни информацию о действиях, выполняемых на компьютере, ни вашу личную информацию — он отсылает ТОЛЬКО результаты измерений.

В данное время клиент показывает карты того, как Интернет выглядит с вашей точки обзора, а в будущем — сможет предоставлять персонализированные "прогнозы Интернет-погоды", и другие интересную информацию.

Визуализация работы клиента

есть вопрос касательно клиента..
что это вообще за точка на голубом фоне плавает?!?! ))

- Removed systray4j
- Implemented partial skinning, upgraded skinLF
- Removed reflection as a way to launch the agent, as it's no longer necessary (no custom frames)
- Smaller memory footprint, various bugs fixed

Traceroute Data 26 - 27/12/2008

The data is saved in 2 MySQL dump files and can be downloaded from this link:

tr_data_26_to_28_Dec_2008.tar.gz (764 MB)

For using the data you should create 2 equivalent tables as described here.

For understanding what exactly is the meaning od each column in the table look at this xml file which explains it.

Loading the data into the tables should be done using the "Load data in file" command of MySQL.

Download Weekly Topologies Data through REST Web Service
Our weekly topologies can now be downloaded from our REST Web Service.
(more about REST Web Services can be found here)

For downloading the data please use URL in this format:

http://www.netdimes.org/rest/topologies/{topologyType}/{year}/{week}

where:

•topologyType can be nodes or edges or asnodes or asedges or citynodes or cityedges or routers
•year can be 2004 to current year
•week can be any week of the year (from 1 to 52)

Each weekly topology can be downloaded either as a full week or, in case of memory restriction in the client side can be downloaded partly by adding the limit and offset parameters.

One restriction: nodes and edges data can be downloaded in chunks of maximum 500000 rows. In case that the weekly topology is smaller then 500000 rows it can be downloaded in one transaction.

For example:

•By calling the URL: http://www.netdimes.org/rest/topologies/asnodes/2004/37 the result will be downloading the all week data in one transaction
•By calling the URL http://www.netdimes.org/rest/topologies/as...004/37?limit=10 only the first 10 rows from the topology will be returned
•By calling the URL http://www.netdimes.org/rest/topologies/as...set=50&limit=10 only rows 51 to 60 will be returned
•By calling the URL: http://www.netdimes.org/rest/topologies/nodes/2004/37 we will get all the data from this week topology since it has less than 500000 rows
•By calling the URL: http://www.netdimes.org/rest/topologies/nodes/2008/37 we will get an error message since the weekly topology is bigger then 500000 rows and can't be downloaded in one transaction

In order to know how many rows there are in every week - in case of sequential download, for example - you can use this URL format:

Походу уже третий раз его набираем

посмотрел на ежедневную статистику Alxx, во даёт чувак.хотел бы я знать как он это вытворяет,моих ресурсов максимум хватало в VMware 3 клиента запустить и на винде ещё одного,

raskumar, Видимо комп у него получше чем у тебя.
У Меня получалось 8 виртуалок на гигабайте памяти (Вин 2000 клиентские оси, 48 Мб на клиента.)
Правда работать можно было при 5ти =)
