Similar to projects 1130-1133, these projects characterize the transition state region for several transitions seen in K12M L939, the 39 residue fragment from the N terminal domain of ribosomal protein L9. We believe we have a method to measure the rate of diffusion in the barrier crossing event (in a pure kinetic description of the reaction coordinate). These projects should allow us to make a strong prediction about the variability of the prefactor for protein folding transition state theory.
