I tried to crunch some tasks, hoping the problems have been resolved. But it appears that there are still problems. All 7 of 7 tasks errored out after 12.5 hours of run time. Please let us know when this is fixed, so I can return to the project.

This is the same error I have been getting on both my Windows machines for over a month.
I posted under the thread "Could Not Open ZIP_local File", but as I got no answer I could understand (there were answers but all were in the native language of this project and I could not read or understand the responses), I switched projects.
So i stopped using my Windows machines. My Linux machine do not get this error and are running fine and still do this project.

As there is still no solution as to why I can't run this project under Windows, I will be setting this project to no new work.
The project uses a lot of resources (lots of memory, long running work units, cpu time) and after a quick calculation on my Linux hosts, which can run this project, I have found a poor reward for the effort involved to finish a work unit.
Only getting 14.5 cr/h .
I will check back later to see if things have improved.

Shame as I like the idea of the project but communication is also another issue.

Dear Conan,
thank you for your care, but we are very overwhelmed now by current activities
and could not re-design the application to fix the problem - at the moment ONLY.
In any case, we are happy with your devotion and efforts to crunch our tasks -
it is especially important, because the tasks are really big - so are our scientific targets!

As to credits per hour, you can see that SLinCA@Home is trying to be
honest among other projects (please, see comparison)
and do not give more credits than other projects (this will spoil the whole image of our position among others).
Besides, we award 2-credits (per 1-2 week) to all crunchers who faced the error with ZIP-operation at Windows ONLY.

In any case, thank you for your efforts and advices!

Hoping to fix error in 2-3 months after the current turmoil at the workplace...

I'm crunching several dozens of tasks on various machines with different OS - so far no problems

Hi, zombie67!

thank you for your reminder! At the moment. we have not progress fro Windows platform (some users can run our tasks and many cannot run, alas).
Now we are working on redesign of the application, because some other bugs (related with time and statistics calculations) were found,
and will try to avoid differences in stability of Linux and Windows versions in the following version.

I see that the apps were updated on 12/01. Did this fix the problem with the windows app?

If not... try do it like in BURP project. They send with their application two additional aps - windows_zip.exe & windows_unzip.exe
