Today we start operations with a batch of 1000 WU. We will use this to test the worker and check everything runs smoothly. Volunteers willing to help can ask for an invitation code once they have checked the requirements to participate in the project

Please be aware that, due to the nature of the network being simulated, this project requires a HUGE amount of RAM, between 3 and 6 Gigabytes per Work Unit, and quite likely this quantity will increase in the next months as the investigation goes further. You will need a suitable 64 bit Linux or Windows PC (due to the RAM requirements there is no 32 bit worker available). Because of this, subscription to this project is made only by invitation code upon request of the volunteer.

Hi all!

RAM demand with the current WUs is now beyond the 8 GB mark. The University's computers I have been computing Neurona with, have only 6GB so I had to detach them from the project some days ago, too much swapping to make it worthwhile.

There is nothing I can do to improve the memory usage, so for hosts with 8 GB RAM I think you are also close to the point you should give up until we return to less demanding WUs.

For your info, results production has dropped to 4400 / day. With 180000 WU left, this means in the best case 40 days more to complete this phase.
